market for HORROR! We all hear that.Sadly,the doors to becoming produced are just as hard to get into as Drama,Romance,and
Comedy.That leaves the horror writer in a strange dilemma of being seen as the ugly step child in a sea of love,laughter and
tears.
That's okay...We can handle being a little different.Right?
Let the higher minds struggle over the
inspirational premise,while we struggle to find new ways of shedding blood.When they reach to inspire laughter,we search for
a way to embed terror.Lastly,when they build their characters toward lofty ideals, we build creatures, monsters, slashers
and the rest, out of the gutters of evil.
Most importantly,we must have some pride.Even though the industry see's
us as useless grunts,we know in our hearts HORROR films are one of the most important, low budget ways for studios to make
a financial killing...And who do they look to for clever ideas?..That's right!..The screenwriter!
So after countless
hours of formatting to perfection, writing the scariest concept in the history of horror,spending hundreds of dollars to get
read in competitions,why not add your logline and see what happens?
Who knows?...You may even get lucky enough to
land an option or a sale from a posting.
